Hello, I'm Peter Gwilliam.

I was born in Surrey, in the south of England, and grew up in a small village near Gatwick.  I studied business at college and worked in the finance, pensions, sales and pharmaceutical industries and then as a manager in a local theatre.  My first experience of teaching was as a volunteer in Ghana and Sri Lanka in 2006 and travelling afterwards led me to meet my wife, who is from Switzerland.  I achieved my CELTA teaching certificate in 2009 and moved to Zurich in the same year, where I have been living and teaching ever since.  In June 2016 I successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature with The Open University and since 2019 I have been studying a Master's degree in English literature and linguistics at the University of Zurich.
